A Rarity: Lakland 55-76

The idea of Lakland making a run of these as Skylines is tantalizing, but probably unrealistic. I wish these were more common.

I would imagine that this slid into the area of "If you want to get a Stingray just buy a Stingray". For some reason people are happy to buy a Precision or Jazz bass from any company at all but when it comes to a Stingray there is only one place to go. Especially in this case where EBMM is already high quality with an oil finish neck and was much cheaper than the custom Lakland. A skyline version would likely sell better than a USA version but would come into a price point where you can get some used USA Stingrays OR buy a Sterling for much less.

He already has. There is a big thread on it somewhere from several years ago. He even opened up a pre-order with wider spacing and it didn't generate enough justification for production. I just love the spacing and geometry of the SR5, but I'd love to try one of these out someday.

String spacing is the main reason for those of us that desire this.

Sadowsky's Dinky J body just looks off. It would look better with a P body.

I have contacted them about making a 55-76... We shall see what comes of that inquiry. Last I knew, they still had the CNC program, so it should still be possible to get it done. I want it fretless - 5-string Pino essentially.
