A thread for with which to vent.

OK, I take care of myself. I'm in good shape. I don't brag about it; I don't even mention diet or exercise unless someone asks me about it. But people are constantly trying to get me to eat whatever they put in front of me, and get downright exasperated when I politely turn it down. It's always, "You gotta try this! You're missing out on so much! You gotta be more adventurous!" When it comes to food, they act like they've never met me. And it's not always that I don't like the food; I just don't want it right now. I know how I want to look and feel, and it takes some discipline to maintain it. Why keep insisting that I eat something, especially large amounts of it, when it's clear that I don't want it?

Why do people think you can just simply pick your stuff up and plop yourself over to another country?

Seriously. Unless you have a great job or at least great qualifications (the laywer/doctor kind) or that you already have family there, moving to any country is a hard process. And even if you do make it, it takes a long time. Like years. Personally, in my situation the US wouldn't even take me (i looked it up at some point, not that i really want to move to the US, I mean at one point years ago i considered it) . I mean i dont have a criminal record or anything, but i have pretty much zero qualifications, at least according to immigration standards, and no family there, therefore, not happening. I mean its like that anywhere mind you. Same for a US citizen wanting to move to Canada.

It's very difficult, but it can be done. A friend of mine moved from Ghana to NYC. It's a long story, but where there's a will, there's a way.

I want a cigarette!!!!!

I quit for new years so it's been 25 days. My first 25 nicotine free days since I was 16. I feel great. I'm breathing better, sleeping better, tasting food better, and I don't stink like smoke anymore, but my god I want a cigarette.

That is all.

Thank you.

Congratulations bro. I know quitting nicotine is one of the hardest things to do. Good luck :)

Congratulations!

Seven years quit here. I remember those first few months, but it does get easier.

You're a free man now. Please don't put the hook back in your mouth.

Great job man! Don't give in - you're almost through the toughest part. You CAN do it. Many conrats!

I quit back in 02', and it was tough for the 1st 6 weeks, but after that it was smooth sailing.

Hey, at least drivers in North America usually drive within the road lines.

I've been on vacation for January traveling in Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and HongKong. Drivers over here are nuts.

In order of driver wisdom:
1 Singapore is good with no major observations.
2 HongKong is pretty crazy but they stay within the road lines for the most part.
3 Thailand tends to drive slightly over the lines.
4 And finally, Philippines... My wife is from here, so my observations are given with respect. I have seen the following, having been here 5 times now. If there are 3 lanes on a street, then 5 rows of traffic are trying to squeeze onto it. If a one way street has an arrow, that is merely a suggestion, as you can often see vehicles traveling the opposite direction. Whenever I'm being driven around, I'm usually quite nervous.

I just found out someone I've know my entire life has been living homeless for the past 3 months. We've always had a love/hate relationship, but it still sucks to see someone get that low, especially since its his compulsive lying that got him there and he's never been one to be prone to changing.

Also my grandma is going under the knife tomorrow morning to have some work done on her shoulder, and then immediately following having another surgeon come in to have a (thankfully...)non-cancerous tumor removed that has wrapped itself around a major artery in her neck.

Ive been feeling a little stressed out lately.
