A thread for with which to vent.

Is it a "what will I wear" thing or more of a "my husband is a lazy slob and I'm going to have to shovel" thing?
No it's a "oh my god we're all gonna die. Is management serious?
(Yes Jill. They're serious)
We're really gonna be open tomorrow?
(Really really Jill)
But there's gonna be a foot of snow!!
(Yes. It's New York in winter. Are you new here Jill? No. No you're not)

I really dislike Jill.

A lot of people are just getting softer and softer.

They cancelled the school buses here today. We had a bit of freezing rain last night but mostly just blowing snow for a few hours last night. At 3AM, it had stopped snowing. At 8AM, the streets were plowed and salted/sanded. Now it's hovering around the freezing mark and is bright and clear. Why aren't the school busses running?

I remember as a kid riding on a school bus when the driver was trying to climb a hill during a winter freezing rain storm, he had the accelerator pedal to the metal and the bus was still sliding backwards down the hill! Us kids were yelling to he driver: "Hey Steve McQueen, keep 'er out of the rhubarb, will ya". Somehow we all made it to school in one piece.

Same here. We were rural - about 5 miles outside of a town of 900 and the buses would still run with 2 feet of snow. If it got stuck, all the kids were moved to the back of the bus for traction and the upper-grade guys would get out and push. Can't see them doing that nowdays.

Just found out that I have to go to mediation for my divorce. I was told I could do it over the phone. Nope, I have to go to Florida. And oh yeah, I have to find somebody to come with me because I can't open my eyes. It's a small town in Florida that is nowhere near an airport, so I can't just fly and take a cab.

It's scheduled for next Thursday. Did I forget to mention that my lawyer told me to give all of my money after paying bills to my wife? So how am I supposed to pay to get to Florida?

I'm not happy about this.

Probably liability issues.

Sometimes it's not that individuals are soft. Sometimes it's because certain individuals are sue-happy, and certain entities don't want to get sued.

Sometimes.

You're sticking to the right lane like you're on ******* train tracks cuz you're so much of a coward you're terrified to venture into the middle or left. Meanwhile, you're in the lane that people need to merge on to and Wotan forbid you let someone get in front of you so you're speeding up to not let anyone merge comfortably. You're a coward and you're an inconsiderate douche. I hate you.

Does noone screen their commercials before they are aired?
The Rav 4 ad with the parasailer somehow loses the reel for the tow rope. In the Verizon mike drop ad the microphones reposition themselves a couple of times. These are amateur mistakes by what should be professionals.
Are you talking about Herman's Hermits? If not, "no one" is two words.

I don't know if this is where I vent, but here goes: My father isn't dead yet. He's 96 years old and, although not bedridden, he can't walk. He can bearly hear and bearly see. He wears a diaper. He's on enough medication that food no longer has any appeal to him. He has panic attacks. He has crusty scabs all over his scalp. The few natural teeth he has left in his head are rotten. He gripes and complains endlessly, over and over again about the same things because his short term memory is shot, even though his long term memory is flawless. He has no more money left after breaking his hip, and selling his house to pay medical bills. He has never been a particularly good father to me or my siblings. I wish, for his sake and mine, he would die.

And I feel incredibly guilty for saying so.

Bawbag commuter rear-ends a bus in the bus-only lane this morning downtown during rush hour. Lots of damage to car, none to bus. One transit cop on scene. Bus-only lane completely blocked. Transit authority doesn't clear the collision out of the path of the hundreds of buses caught behind this nonsense nor do they provide traffic control to keep things running smoothly.

Tens of thousands of commuters delayed for more than half an hour because of one ding dong driving inattentively in a place they shouldn't have been in the first place AND the transit authority running a slipshod operation.

This happens every day in every city in the world with public transit. You'd think we would have figured this stuff out by now.

That sucks.

Rant here. Vent here. Complain, whine, etc.
Get it out and feel better.

Also, avoid starting one of those embarrassing threads.. Like this one... That you'll probably regret later.

Feel free to phrase your vent like youre telling off the person you want to, but cant or just complain about something specific, or just say "today sucks".

Please peeps, i know this is TBOT but can we, for once, not judge and troll and tease. Do some good and let people get it out.

I'll start:

Having PTSD sucks and the jerkfaces who attacked me last year and set me back a lot suck even more. I hope they rot in hell.

Your turn.

I really don't have anything to rant about. Life's going pretty well for me overall. Sorry.
