A wonderful mod for the consummate beer drinker

My band has a strict no alcohol policy at rehearsal and no alcohol on stage at gigs. Our lead singer is a recovering alcoholic and we had a few problems with him when he was drinking. Even though I enjoy having a few beers when we play, I instituted the policy to show support for the lead singer and make sure we stay focused on working on the material. A few of us will have a couple of beers at a gig before we go on stage but there is never alcohol on stage.

This mod could also be helpful to someone who enjoys a nice, craft-made root beer or sarsaparilla as well. And I think some Perrier bottles have a top like that as well.

I did get a chance to use the opener at practice last night, it worked like a charm. I think I'm going to put a small, strong magnet on the lower screw to catch the tops as they fall. And I didn't need a bib, so all is well with drippage so far.

The beer bottle can also be used as a slide. I wonder if a tax deduction can be applied to any of these accessories.

I consitered putting a second strap peg on one of my basses because its almost the best bottle opener out there. It will confuse people when they see it too.

I almost put one of those openers on the back of the headstock on a Squier jazz I used to have.

I looked for a picture but I don't have one, I DID put it on the back of the headstock of the 64 eb-0 in my av.

I don't drink when I play anyway. I have to drive to the gig so I don't drink.

Mulling this over a bit, a thought came to me: for those of us with day jobs, I wonder what the boss would say if we rolled into work carrying a six pack of tall boys? IMO we go to play as professionals we should be professional about it. I've see so many bands play a smokin' first set. They then go outside and can barely play the second. I've seen others that by the time the last set comes around they are drunk as skunks.

Threads like this make me glad I don't drink. Used to, never was too much into it, though, and can't imagine it now. My bottles all have twist off caps, so this mod is wasted on me. Speaking of which, I thought most beers had twist off caps, too.

Beer snob, eh? Listen, I never drank for any other reason than to get plastered. I wouldn't care if it a beer tasted like dirty gym sock juice as long as it got me wasted. But since I'm over that phase of my life and have been for a long time, not a problem for me to be misguided.

I can't find my close-up pics, but that's what I did on my black Skjold. It works great, too!
