I want a world of free Paulaner Hefeweizen and 100% Kona coffee. Heck I'd settle for Pabst Blue Ribbon and Folgers if it's free.

In theory without money, or in the very least selfish motivation involving money, technology could advance faster to make it much easier to solve these problems.
Would I be correct to assume that you give all your money, except the bare minimum that you require to survive, to charities and the homeless, and that you're accessing this website through a public computer at a public library?
Oh, thats cheating!
Sometimes, though, life does provide shortcuts.
Only problem is that if youre not prepared for the possible outcome, it could prove to be your ruin.
No, this idea would never work because of human nature. It has already been tried (communism) and has failed every single time.
the only problem I can see with my method is the possibility of a jet engine sprouting from my anus. It would certainly cut down on flight time but I'm not sure the ladies would be too into it.
I don't see the relevance of this, but great talking point.
But yes, this idea will never work because of people like you.
Sometimes it's hard to say what one intends with a few sentences...a couple words in the wrong place or a sentence that could have been better constructed can give the wrong intent.
I do think that most people who have worked hard and done well for themselves deserve what they have...they were willing to make the sacrifices and do what it takes to make it better for themselves and their family. If everything was free, it takes away the incentive for people to make that extra effort. Why work harder if there is no reward?? I said I didn't want to be average because I believe that I have performed above average during my life, and therefore, myself and my family deserves to reap the rewards.
i'm no expert, but i believe the intake would quickly become clogged with "debris"

I'm just wondering if you're one of the "people like you" that will never make this idea work, or if perhaps you're different.
In response to the "why would (insert job title) work without compensation" question, I think the idea is that everyone would be contributing to society in a certain way, shape, or form. For example, cops protect us, so we farm their food.
are you saying we can change evolution?
Way more human evolution would have to happen before something like this would exist. Good idea, but like so many like it, the human element is the catalyst that leads to its failure.
Nah - if we ever manage to find a source of extremely cheap power, we will end up with a society where almost no one works and most things are in abundance.
We can have a no work, full greed society. Eventually institutional unemployment rates will start to exceed 50%.

Its not relevant, because I do not exist in a society that would allow me to succeed, even by my own standards, by being different.
You DO live in a society that allows you to succeed. I have succeeded (by my standards), and millions of others have also succeeded. What's stopping you?
I like money. How else would I have money fights with my rich friends and take a dive into a pool full of gold coins a la Scrooge McDuck?

Of course we can.
