So Carey Nordstrand began his career as a luthier. Building basses turned into designing pickups. That took over the business almost exclusively. In came the Goya Panther, courtesy of Juan Alderete (Racer X, Mars Volta) and it inspired the Ah SIN Ah Nix. They are manufactured in Indonesia and the V2 basses are assembled here in Redlands, CA.
currently the electronics and pickguard are manufactured in-house with body and neck coming from indonesia. That may change in the future. What exactly is "assembled here" covering? What is the difference between the V1 and V2 that would make the V2 assembled here and the V1 not?
i would think the difference is between those 2 pickups on the old model (humbuckers?) and the 3 single coils on the new one.

The rascal and the Acinonyx were very strong influences when I did this little short scale. The three pickups of the rascal and extra switched modes of the cat bass. Both such great basses. Really great to see new ss basses coming out with different vibesI think the reason it has more dynamics is that it's body is light-weight (basswood?) and responds more from player input than a heavy slab of wood would. A heavy bass relies more on the pu output for dynamics, but won't transfer playing technique as physically. As an example - the difference between a hollow-body and solid body. A hollow-body will respond more to player input, resonationg through the body, amplified by the pu's.
I like the design (based on the '60s Goya Panther, as mentioned above - 5th pic) overall but prefer slider switches like on my 3 pu ESP/Grass Roots Bass IV. (based on the Fender VI - first 3 pics) The Goya had separated push-button tabs which are easier to engage.
It's interesting that 3 pu basses are starting to appear of late, including Fenders' Rascal from a few years ago. (turquoise bass) Burns of London (last pic) was probably the 1st 3-pu bass produced. (mine is a '63)
