I am seriously digging the GK MB800 with these cabs.

I absolutely agree!!!

I've been waiting for someone else to try the G-K MB series with these cabs. For my tone goals, it's a terrific match. This combination motivated me to sell/trade some fine cabinets and amplifications components I'd owned for a long time.

Unbelievable combination of low-end gravitas with clarity across the spectrum. Clean booty and warmth.

I've been following this thread for a while now and I thought I'd chime in. I'm loving my Flatwound with my Orange AD200B. The two together create a wonderful harmony of thick, deep bass that fits perfect with my LOG 5 string P bass.

I continue to enjoy my B-112 Full Range, it has the best overall sound of all my cabs for my goals and taste. I run mine with a Series 4 Acoustic Image Clarus.

Though my Rob Allens may not be what you imagine. They're all fretted with mag pickups and roundwound strings. More of a P-Bass with a Rob Allen vibe than the other way 'round.

I was going to email Andy about buying a second Fullrange (by now my single 4ohm being driven by Clarus+ @ 800 watts and very nice it is too) and thought I would ask him if he had any plans to do a 2x12" as my Clarus does 2 Ohms and a 4 ohm 2x12 + 4 ohm 1x12" would be a nice set up

This came back. He is hoping to be up and running by the end of the year.

I connected with Andy last week, I'm going to spring for a B-1 Series III which should pair beautifully with my B-112. I think that modular setup will cover me for small, medium, and large venues.

It has a front and a rear firing 12. Interesting design. Andy surely is not one to put out a 'typical' box. Fun to see a picture of it. Unique box for sure.

Hey guys. I thought I'd start a new thread on this one, since the other Acme thread is quite long already and primarily discusses the 'Flat Wound' one way version of this cab.

The cab arrived earlier this afternoon, expertly boxed and in perfect shape. It is one of what I call the 'Super 12's, along with the Thunderchild (pictured for perspective with the Full Range) and the various 12/6 executions. By 'Super 12', I mean that these cabs all use PA type drivers with very good power handling and mechanical capabilities, allowing them to go much lower and much louder than you would think possible in such a small, lightweight box.

Hi Ken, I missed this thread when you started it back in 2011 so I didn’t see the pics which are no longer available - and I quickly scanned the first few pages and the last page for pics but only saw Flatwound pics - I guess the thread returned to FWs again? Anyway, to make things short (without having to read 24 pages to find out) - do you still have and use the Acme Full Range Series III 112 cab or does it mostly sit in the pile now (or sold) while you mostly use another cab now?

I have my Full Range for sale. GREAT cab, and it 'is what it is'... very full, super deep low end, low SPL, power hungry, clean and accurate. I dig it, but I guess I'm just a Bergantino guy. The low end extension ended up not being a particular positive for me personally on the gig.

I love trying all this stuff out, and most of it ends up moving on after a while.

My fEARful is also gone. The only non Berg cab I own is the Thunderchild112. That one is going nowhere.

Andy is doing something very interesting there, perhaps along the lines of something I've also experimented with a bit, and have been doing in the home audio world for several years. I don't know all the details of what he's doing course, but he's definitely coloring outside the lines again... something he does exceptionally well.

The only problem with combining a 4-ohm 212 with a 4-ohm 112 is that the individual driver(s) in the 112 will see twice the wattage as the individual drivers in the 212. Combining a 4-ohm 212 with an 8-ohm 112 would result in equal wattage to all drivers, and give you more real-world output before something reaches its limits.

<sigh> it was all going so well, but what you say makes perfect sense. My problem is that I am in the UK and shipping hurts badly so picking up another two cabs would be extraordinarily painful

You might be able to have Andy send you an 8-ohm driver to swap out in your Full Range.
