Got the acoustic today on clearance for $99 at the local GC thanks to the Mark II versions of Acoustic amps being launched. I couldn't pass it up.

Nice buy for $99. Way to go.
Got mine yesterday and am loving it.
Maybe don't give up yet bp82. Manual suggests 3 things to keep it clean.
1. Make sure distortion button is off (out).
2. If instrument has active electronics or hotter pickups, press the -15db switch in.
3. Turn instrument volume knob down. Unlike some amps, mfg does not recommend turning it all the way up. I think they suggest noon to start.

Re: the choice of putting a 1x10 in a cab that looks big enough for 2, and related design questions. No, there is no separation between the speaker and the void below - It's all one chamber. Yes, there is a small port at the bottom. See pic.
Love digging up old threads.. Well I just bought the MKII today.. Can't wait to get it up and running to see how well it will perform... Anyone have any updates as to how their Acoustic 260 MKII is working?
Well after my first practice with this, this amp rocks! I love the tone of this little beauty. While I am disappointed that I thought I was getting the MKII, so mine does no have a DI, I really love the tone. Great bottem end and a nice warm high end. Especially with my fretless. My intent is to use this for practices (Electric) and for shows (Acoustic). My first use was in practice with my 3 guitarists and only 1 drummer, but it performed wonderfully. Not really enough to be loud enough to hear over our pretty loud drummer, but he made some corrections in his playing and it worked out well. I can't wait to get it on stage. However, I am most certainly going to need to now buy a DI for it..

Picked up a MKI a month ago for $80 off CL, while it does sound good, it's not quite as good at lows as my acoustic B100. That said, it does take effects better (I suspect because of the reflex cabinet). I got it for my daughter for her Teisco Tulip bass and Yamaha keyboard.

Keep the cab. Get rid of the head.
The 260c is a solid and heavy cab. Great for a more powerful speaker.
I replaced the stock 100w@4Ohms 10" Acoustic speaker with a 600w RMS@8Ohms 10" Eminence Kappa Pro LF Bass Speaker. Now it's an 8Ohm 600w cab. I also replaced the 1/4" jack with a Speakon connector.
I use a GK 1001RBII head with it. It sounds awesome alone and also holds it's own as part of a stack.
Keep the cab. Get rid of the head.

what?? holy moly, what a great price! i just got one online from GC for $139. it was in NJ, and i'm in sandy eggo so it won't be here for about a week, but i have a bro at GC so he saved me the shipping costs.
i'm geeked to get one. i already have an acoustic B15 for practice inside my pad, but once i get this 260 i will sell the B15 (which is great btw) on craigslist or something. this 260 looked to be in great shape and honestly like i said i bought it because it reminds me of my first proper stage rig (370 head with 360 cab).
