Acoustic bass recommendation?

Boulder Creek. I'm pretty much the only person here that likes them, but mine is a tank. It's been shot- with a 9mm bullet. No I didn't shoot it, it's a long story.
But it's pretty much bulletproof.
I really liked the Boulder Creek N4F fretless 4 string, it was a nice playing and acoustically honest sounding bass. I just didn’t care for the lined fingerboard or the soundhole placement, but that’s due to my personal needs and not a knock on the basses at all. And you’re right, you’ll never get a bunch of love here on TB for Boulder Creek, especially not on that nutty Acoustic Bass Fetish thread … far too many fanboys for some brands there, all they do is clutter the thread with serious bias. It’s basically unreadable …

I really like my Bass Uke for this. I got this for a little over a C-note. Changed the tuners for $25 and added flatwounds for $40. Sounds and plays like a bass. Super easy to carry around the house and even has a built in tuner. I have a nice acoustic Charvel, but I find it a bit big and clunky so it does not come out much. The Uke bass actually sounds better unplugged.

Nice! That looks to be a Harley Benton Kahuna CLU-Bass Ukulele. By the way, what did you dislike or found find lacking about the old tuners?

Stock tuners were really bad with a half a turn of slop. I found tuners that where a slight upgrade, same company, I think, but better.
I got a Kala first, but the intonation was way off. The HB is not bad.
