Acoustic bass recommendation?

I can skip the 'gee does it sound like an upright ' or the 'can it keep up with 2 or 3 box guitars unplugged ' questions (NO and NO . . . . ), I just want a 5-string 'couch' bass to noodle on while watching TV and keep my hands loose without plugging everything up to skip my usual playing too loud . . . . . I tried one of the M Kelly 4-Ports and liked it, remarkable looking and a nice, slim neck. Could care less what it sounds like plugged in.

Back in the '90's I had an Applause, which is Ovations second line. It was surprisingly loud but I never really liked the sound. Now I have Micheal Kelley 5 string Dragonfly, is good for what your looking for and does sound really good plugged in.

Whatever you decide to get, do yourself a favor and string it with Labella Copper White Tapewounds or DTB Black Tapes. Both sound great on an acoustic bass. Depending on what sound you want, the coppers are louder and brighter and the black tapes have more thumpy low end, almost like an upright.

Fender CB-60SCE - $329. Very nice acoustic bass and also sounds great amplified. I've been playing one for over a year and love it. People I play with like the tone too. The only change I have made is to put on GHS Pressurewound Bronze strings, which have much less finger noise than the stock bronze roundwounds.
How low were you able to get the action? Or maybe it's not a big concern for you. Thanks
