Double Bass Acoustic Image Ten2 and Phil Jones Ear Box

Just off of a loud gig where I ran my UB into a DI and into the PA. It was very difficult to hear as the crowd and venue were quite loud.

So I was wondering...can I run my UB into my Ten2, disconnect the speaker cable going to the speakers on the Ten2 (so I'm not competing with the PA), run my Phil Jones Ear box out of the back of the amp like I usually do, and go direct out from the Ten2 into the PA?

Depends on how much power the Ear Box needs...I don't have one so can't comment. The spec sheet says impedance varies from 340 ohms :wideyed: at 20hZ to 24 ohms at 1 kHz, so you would probably have the master pretty low (9:00 or less) assuming the Ear Box speaker is reasonably efficient (there's no spec on SPL or power handling). The web page does show it connected direct to a speaker output from a PA system, though.

Rick could just try it at home and see if he can control the volume enough. I'd start with the channel gain at 0, master at 9:00 and see how loud it gets as you raise the channel gain. If the volume controls have to be just barely cocked open it probably won't work well.
