Adam Clayton amp settings help

Thanx Much for the info!!! While I generally play metal I am also a huge U2 fan and have always love Adam Clayton's bass tone.
I was lucky enough to meet Bono a couple years ago and he was kind enough to take a picture with me. Most of my friends assumed he would have been a jerk but actually he was very friendly and made the time to take a pic.

I hate being the guy to piss in someone's chips, and this will be doubly crap if this is hanging pride of place over your mantle and was one of the defining moments of your life, but....

you do know that ain't Bono, right? :hiding:

He's still using the Ashdown heads at this stage with slightly different settings to the Vertigo Tour.I can't get signal chain as the person i get my information from is contracted to not reveal signal chain.I can tell you though his front of the house sound is a blended mix of mic'ed 15' Aguilar (slightly off centre),Countryman DI and Line 6 POD.

Hey Guys,

Adam is using DB 750 heads with his DB 410 and DB 115 cabs.
Going to see them next week!

Best,

Dave B.

Old thread, sorry.

AC always gets a good distortion sound without losing the lows and definition. There must be plenty of clean in the signal, bi-amped etc. For most of us using just the one distortion pedal with a blend knob what ratio of clean to distortion would you use? I'm thinking of songs such as Get On Your Boots and the middle section of Vertigo. They sound like they are using quite a high gain but plenty of clean, maybe 2/1 in favor of clean? Does that sound about right?

What about his setup from 2015 i+e tour 'til the 2019 Joshua Tree Tour?
Is he still an amp and cab guy? None are to be seen onstage, and I remember watching some pics of his understage rack with Tech21 PSA 1.1 which I wonder if it's his primary source of sound. His tone is groundshaking, especially with the Warwick bass he's using now, and he's got super punchy lowmids with a well thought distortion on the upper register. Any hints?

This is with a 4x10 on top of a 1x15.I also have his rackmount settings if you want those also.He also uses a line 6 pod, which song were you after tone wise?I can create any of his tones on my Markbass with the VT Bass also.I spent countless hours on his tones, but as youv'e probably noticed they differ for a number of songs. He uses DR Sunbeam Strings,Blue herdim picks when he has too and depending on the song i can also give you his volume and tone settings on his bass.
