Wrong side of the bed?We really need a dedicated sub just for YouTube. And a way to ignore it.
Every single section is just a collection of people posting random YouTube crap they found. It's in Recordings, Social Media, Bassists, even Misc. now.
Adam Neely consistently posts thoughtful content about music and I think this video raised concerns about the quality of the Berklee curriculum. As a soon to be retired professor (my last day of my online class is 5/29/26,) I can identify with issues of curriculum and the influence of commercial concerns on academia. We really need a dedicated sub just for YouTube. And a way to ignore it.

You know you can just scroll past those posts, yes?We really need a dedicated sub just for YouTube. And a way to ignore it.

By that argument, every forum should be full of spam and nonsense. You can just scroll past those posts, yes?You know you can just scroll past those posts, yes?
It's in the Misc. forum, which seems correct to me, and Neely, as the good Dr. says, posts high quality, thoughtful content. I really don't get the opprobrium here and I think you're more than a bit off base. It's a daily issue here. Scroll through the daily posts and you see more and more of this garbage. They can't even contain them to one section anymore.
It's main character syndrome.
Built on that for yaWe really need a dedicated sub just for YouTube and/or AI. And a way to ignore it.
It's not against the rules to post videos. Maybe there are other forums that don't allow them where you would feel more at home.By that argument, every forum should be full of spam and nonsense. You can just scroll past those posts, yes?

My beef isn't so much the prevalence of folks posting YouTube videos...it's people posting YouTube videos with little or no commentary other than "I thought this was cool."
If you thought something was cool, tell us why! Summarize the salient points the video makes, tell us why you found that fascinating. Put some effort into your post so that other members here learn something about you as a person and as a musician, and/or so we have a reason to take the time to watch the video you posted.
"I thought this was cool; here, watch this video" is about as inviting as toddlers who announce "Mommy, I pooped!"
Yes, exactly! There is no prompt for discussion, usually because there is no discussion to be had. "Look at this" isn't a topic for discussion. Welcome to The Internet? It's low effort and spread all over the place.

The "Recordings" section says it's for "Youtube Finds" and yet you can see they are hardly contained there, as evidenced by this very post in the "misc" section, and by a regular who certainly knows the layout of the site.
If you read the forum descriptions, the YouTube forum is for people to post their own content, but sometimes the "look at this" posts wind up there.
The "bassists" section doesn't have any specific guidelines about video. But performance and interview clips wind up there.

I think really you just need to be ignored, you are the MOST demanding user on this forum and you don't even pay for it. Following my own advice now.... you aren't the arbiter of good posting around here bud, just a heads up.We really need a dedicated sub just for YouTube. And a way to ignore it.
