Add Passive tone control to fender precision player plus

Hello everybody. I just bought a fender precision player plus. I love it but I'd like to have also the passive tone control as the precision ultra has.
The electronics seems to be very similar, the ultra has a concentric potentiometer for mids and passive tones, while the player plus has a normal potentiometer for mids. Do you think I can replace this pot with a concentric one (I don't know which values they should have)?

Anybody did this mod before? Do you have schematics or advices?

@slap2much : Ibanez is completely different--post a new thread with the correct title to get people with the right knowledge to see it. (sadly I am not one of them.)

@Syndacate : Fat Bass Tone has some interesting pots that might work. Can you please pop your pickguard and measure the ohms from the left to the right lugs of the mid control? I don't recall any connectors, but if there are please disconnect before measuring.

Finally i removed the stock pre and replaced totally with another one which has active/passive capabilities, passive tone control (even in active mode), high, bass mids.
No volume difference switching in active modality and it's a very transparent preamp. Using every setting, the precision character is always recognizable

I have the same bass. I'd like to replace the mid control internally with a trim pot and then just replace the mid control with passive tone that works in active or passive. I haven't opened it up to see what the signal path is and whether blend to passive tone (different pot value, I would expect) is an option.

Should work fine. Mid control IIRC is 50K (but check, don't rely on my bad memory) full size pot. Replacing with a tone pot and cap of your favorite values should be easy. You'll need to figure out the active/passive switch wiring to determine the best way to tie the tone into the internal signal. Or could just wire it across the jack directly.

Edit: will need a three terminal trim pot like a 10-turn to replace the mid control.

I'm hoping it's blend, volume, then into the three band EQ as then I can insert a passive in fairly logical location after the volume but before the active. Using a 50k trim pot (in theory I have some) allows me to tweak the mids to taste before leaving it at that level.
