Drummists can never be replaced!
I actually deleted a large part of my post because I felt it was going off topic a little, but, somehow, I missed the drummer part, so, for clarity's sake, my original post would've gone something like this:
People sometimes ask why I don't just play guitar, if I'm going to be using the higher registers on my bass so often (which, for the record, is a 4-string). To this, I typically respond, "if it's all about range, why doesn't everybody just play piano?" This also ties in with the old comment "who needs a bass player when the keyboard player has a left hand?" To this, I say, "I suppose, then, there's no reason for a guitarist when the keyboard player has a right hand."
For that matter, for what do we need drummers when the keyboard player's got a built-in drum machine?
As you can see, this begins to ramble and go OT, so I decided to cut it out. Sorry for the confusion, and for shoving you into a chasm of drum despair, Mark. Your life would be more fulfilling if you didn't seek my approval for everything. But it wouldn't hurt you to marry a nice doctor. And I suppose it's too much to ask that he's Jewish?
Anyway, suffice it to say that I support EVERYBODY in wherever they want to take their art, as long as no dogs get hurt. I have a cat you can use, however.
