Adler sets new record!

That 11-string thing is the most ludicrous 'instrument' I have ever seen. The musical equivalent of showing your willy.

Although you are certainly entitled to your opinion I find it to be rather myopic and backward.

The instrument and more importantly the music written for it will stagnate if constant improvements and research into furthering the possibilites both sonically and artisically are not carried out and applied.

your "willie" must be, to quote my fave mini schoolers "ah, so small..." :smug: :D

Ahhhh.. these darling people never cease to amuse me with their witty analogies.

Hey, slappy... You should see this 'instrument' called a piano!!! You wouldn't believe how many strings it has!!!

:D

To add to the confusion, the piano is both a stringed instrument AND a PERCUSSION instrument...

This has got to be the most useless and overused statement on this board.

I would definitely appreciate it if people would keep these things to themselves, because we are sick of it! You are serving no useful purpose with this comment, merely agitating the people who are interested in the subject of the thread.

That goes for the "Bongos are ugly" people too!

:spit:

I would say that these people do not possess the substance required to make a proper remark on the issue, so they just write something mentioning genitals to attract attention.
To them I would say that you cant stop evolution, all instruments mutate into others in time and adler just gave a very important step to the future of what we understand as a bass. others have done it before too, some classical guitarists have been using 11 string alto guitars for a while too, so this instrument does not come as a shock to me.

Massive respect to the ones that acctually give things a try and make a decision judged on personal experience. I play a seven string and i like it, but if someone comes to me and asks me to try my bass and says that he didn't liked it he has my full comprehension, at least he had the curiosity for experimenting that all musicians should have! But if someones looks at my instrument and says : "what a pointless instrument" just from *?LOOKING AT IT?* I might assume that
someone made some nasty comments about his willy and therefore he requires bashing others that are different from him to feel more secure. We are musicians we practice art, I dont see painters peek on others for using bigger paintbrushes...! I would almost compare this to a fight because of soccer teams...." Manchester rules!!So everyone else sucks!!!

Why are people agitated by these comments? Do they really mean anything to you? Just curious.

And Bongos are hideous.

just kidding;)
