Prior to the move to the new software, as a supporting member, I didn't see any ads. Now if I disable AdBlock, I see those ads. I am still a supporting member. Do I have to upgrade to a gold membership to remove all ads on the new forum software?

Yes, I realize I can turn AdBlock back on, but I still want to know if something changed in the new forum software.

Prior to the migration only Gold Supporters had a "no ads" style option... Supporting Members never had any ads removed. With the new setup, Gold Supporters see no ads (and no ads in the mobile app), and it's automatic (you don't have to choose the a "noads style" from the style chooser.
