Ads in iPad app

I noticed today while browsing Off Topic with my iPad that there are ads on the bottom of the page. Is that new? Is there a paid version of the iPad app I can get without ads?

I noticed them last week. I don't think they were there when I got the app.

I checked again, and the ad is after the first post as well as at the bottom of the page. Sort of frustrating.

Yeah it's the same for iPhone. They came with the new update.

I enabled the ads about a week ago to help pay for the development and support of the app. I'll cut it down to only one ad per page though - 2 is a bit much I agree. I'll look into the possibility of offering a paid version with no ads.

It is very easy to hit the banner with your thumb when you are scrolling.

I have been having a problem with threads not loading when I click on them. I have to go back and try it a couple of times sometimes.

And Android? Can ad-free app usage be a perk for supporting members? Ads are even more annoying on small mobile screens and I really liked not having them.

Great suggestion. In-app ads will no longer display for Supporting Members and Gold Supporting Members. Make sure you're logged in when using the app, or you'll still see ads.
