First, let me preface this post by saying that I'm pretty much a complete bass guitar/amp noob. Played acoustic guitar for a few years than switched to electric bass about a year ago and atm pretty much just plug in and play. I'm not familiar with the technical lingo, so any respondents itt, please imagine you're addressing a five-year-old.
Ok, I need a new amp and I've been considering getting a Laney RB8.
I'm in a band that plays heavy rock (a la Foo Fighters) and I need an amp that's loud enough to keep up with 2 guitars and drums.
Does anyone have any experience with the RB8 and will it be loud enough for hard rock? My current 80W amp is being pretty much completely drowned out when we practice.
I'm considering the laney cos it's one of the few amps with some decent wattage in that price range (does watt alone determine volume btw?) and I don't really wanna spend more than about £250/$415. Is it possible to get a quality, loud enough amp for that amount?
Ok, I'll stop droning on now, and, please, respond with short words only cuz I'm...ummm......slow.
