So when you play it through that program you don't get any lag?I can create latency by having it set up so that Windows plays the bass through the speakers. When I turn that off it goes away, but Fruity Loops still plays the sound for me.

So, if I plug my bass into the line in on my motherboard and I use FL studio, I should be able to record with low enough latency that there won't be any noticeable lag?Well Fruity Loops has a latency Setting........ I actually believe it's just packaged with the ASIO4ALL drivers. I can set the latency from 2ms up to 500ms (miliseconds).... The latency/lag starts to become noticeable at around 50ms.
Also, sound quality remains unchanged for me even at the 2ms setting. I know some computers can't handle latency that low without introducing popping/clicking into the recording...
