Advice on Steinberger string adapters

I would like opinions from anybody that has used these.

I've made my own very similar to these. They work okay, I've had a string slip a couple of times (I tend to be a string bending player). Some strings (DR Hi-Beams?) will unravel when you cut the winding, so those don't work very well.

Overall, if you can use double-ball strings, that's the best way to go.

I have a string adapter on my Hohner, and the set screws do like to eat hi-beams.
