First off, thanks for taking the time to read this, any advice & pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Recording live tomorrow, completely DIY so no producer/engineer, and looking to ensure I'm setting myself up for the best possible sound. We're going to DI for a clean track, and mic the dirty.
I've got a distorted sound I like - VT Bass preamp, and a Fuzzrocious Rat/Cat Tail - but obviously recording is a different requirement entirely. My current thought is to use the DI for clean lows/highs, and focus the distorted track more on mids. Does this make sense, or should I EQ the dirty track differently?
