I keep mine on stands in my bedroom. That way no kids pets or guests screw with them and I practice more with them in site. I keep a little gk amp next to them
Really? Does this not promote rust?
I dont case my stuff unless its travelling or being stored for an extended period of time.
As someone who has experience handeling fine art and antiques; the worst thing you can do to your bass? Pick it up. Your finger oil will do much greater damage to everything you touch than just storing it in your living room. Does the temp and humidity in your house swing so wildly that finished wood is warping? Id say you have bigger problems than your guitars...
I'd toss the bag and the cat....then get a decent case.
That being said, I have 5 basses and 2 cases. So, all stay on stands. And if you play them often, they don't really get dust on them. And if they do get dusty, a soft cloth will fix that right up.
I fully intend to get 3 more cases though. But out of sight, out of mind. Right?
Mine are on stands and hangers. I rotate them around so the ones I am currently messin' wit' are the easiest to grab. I have mostly Hercules hangers and stands and these seem very secure. I have a couple older stands where the bass is sitting in a cradle, on two padded arms that are not very secure in my opinion. Those I hope to replace eventually.
