Challenge 1:
  • Pedal 1: Penny Pedals DS-1 Bass Mod (Tone minimum, OD Mode, 25% Gain) - 42
  • Pedal 2: Bogdan Helter Skelter (dist mode, 40% gain) - 5

Challenge 2:
  • Pedal 1: Penny Pedals DS-1 Bass Mod (Tone 50%, OD Mode, 75% Gain) - 17
  • Pedal 2: Blackstone "Brown Mode", Flat EQ, 50% Gain - 17

Challenge 3:
  • Pedal 1: Bogdan Helter Skelter - OD Mode - 25% Gain - 17
  • Pedal 2: Blackstone Appliances - Red Mode, Scooped mids, just a touch of gain (to tilt it from uneffected). Heavy handed play for fretbuzz. - 19

I just listened to Challenge 3 and that is definitely a weird comparison. The Polish love has far too much gain in there to compare it to the other pedal. Basically, it's asking the voter "Hey, do you like your normal tone with the slightest distortion and scooped mids, or do you like the distortion on this one?"

Sorry, I learned to always question the statistics of things :D

I selected some random tones and was curious what people would select, I wasn't attempting to compare apples to apples. If that had been my attempt then it would have been unfair.

Also note, no statistics were used in the creation of this post.
 
Wow the Polish Love sounded a lot worse than I was expected. The Penny DS-1 had tons of bass wow. Grygrx - can you post a sample of your dry tone to compare bass loss (I'm curious how much bass the Blackstone loses)?
