After much agonizing... NAD!

stealth fighter: nice score!

I haven't had a chance to play it with a band, but I already know that it goes louder than I have ever played my PF 350. The Fearful crowd doesn't have to worry about any competition from it, I'm sure, but that wasn't what I was looking for anyway. The thing I like about it the most is how tight the bottom is and how smooth the highs are (no clank/fret noise at all). It makes me reconsider whether I have been dialing in too much bass on my other rigs.

that's part of the reason i started looking at powered monitors.

closer to transparent reproduction than your usual head/cab/combo affair.

we can argue 500 watts here, 500 watts there (by the way, saying the K12 is a 500 watt amp ignores the wide spectrum a bass guitar generates - IMHO)...

but getting in the sonic-ballpark is HUGE regardless of brand or model.

When I bought mine, I had no intentions of using it as a bass amp other than for practice with one project where we jam in a very small room. Now that I've tried it, I could see using it as a stand alone bass rig for small to medium gigs. As for the wattage, let's just say that it is no SVT slayer for bass power, but it goes as loud as I need it to. I don't pay much attention to wattage ratings anyway, since there is no real standard for measurement, and especially since manufacturers have started rating amps for short burst of power. Too many variables come into play. For me, if it sounds good/loud enough, it is good/loud enough.

Edit: for $204.00 in near mint condition and with carry bag I couldn't pass it up.
