One girl at the gig tonight asked me in our break "Does your drummer have a girlfriend? He's really cute."
I replied "Yes, I'm pretty sure he does have a girlfriend."
I'm in Link Removed if you add their ages together.
My usual drummer and i in our 50's play in a power trio with a younger gtr player mid 20's but he looks younger. Whenever we are asked that we refer to him as our love child. Then she says "Are you his Dad?"
.
Oh, they know I'm always pimpin, 24/7!Oh yeah, recognize them from the chicks at shows thread. Do they know you're pimpin' 'em out here?!![]()
A bit of both, really - we play some classics and some more recent stuff.BassyBill, I'm curious. What is in your bands set list that all come together on? Are they fans of the 'classics' or are you a thoroughly up to date older dude?
Heehee, nice story!Bill, just the opposite. Quite a few years ago my daughter, a very good drummer even if I say so myself, stood in for our regular drummer. It was a village dance and she had all the local hicks chasing her, they had never seen a female drummer before, one even proposed. There was rather a lot of alcohol consumed so he might have had second thoughts the following day.
It was so funny to watch and she was loving all the attention safe in the knowledge that she had her dad, a policeman, and 2 other family friends in the band watching out for her. I never let on that I was her dad, and she seemed happy not to tell them.

The only real weirdness I encountered, was at the weddings of younger couples. I had long hair back then, I'd be playing with a polka band or something and the kids would focus in on me, and start asking if we could play some Led Zeppelin... "I'll get right on that. Lemme talk to the accordionist."
