Aguilar AG500 vs AG700

What's your tougth on theses two cats?

For me the 500 have slighty more bottom, a little bit detailled sound and the second channel is a killer option.

The 700 had for it the weight, less noise, the exact same EQ and at the end the same efficiency in the mix. Doubt on how can be repair the class D module in the future.

I own both. The AG700 is more powerful, as expected and does sound similar. I appreciate its light weight. The AG500 lives in my rehearsal room and I appreciate its lack of a cooling fan. The overdrive channel is of no use to me. I personally think it sounds lousy.

I owned the AG500SC and have used the AG700. Personally, I never ran out of steam with the 500. The 700 gives more and the benefit of it's compact size but never had a problem with the AG500s physical size.

I own the AG700 and have owned the TH500 in the past. The AG will be a bit louder and definitely cleaner. It has a similar mid-heavy thickness of the TH500, but again it’s much cleaner and a bit clearer. There’s a bit more coloration and inherent grind in the TH.

The AG reminds me of a tube amp on 3 and TH sounds like a tube amp on 6, if that makes sense.

This is a long shot and I don't mean to highjack the thread but does anyone know if you can still get the rack ears or footswitch for the AG500 from Aquilar? I've got a line on a dual-channel version locally that's in great condition but doesn't have either of those.....and it's going in a small rack rig.
