Aguilar Cabinet Recommendations, DB212, DB410, something else?

Hi All -- I have a DB412 and it rules supremely. I'm looking for a smaller cabinet, want to stick with the DB series.

Being that I love the DB412, common sense tells me the DB212 would be a natural option.

I noticed Aguilar discontinued the DB212, so should I consider looking for a used DB212 or should I be considering their DB410? I was also considering the DB115, but I need either a 4 or 2 Ohm rated cabinet.

Reason I am searching for a new cabinet, Im running my Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT thru my SWR Goliath 410 at practice volume but the cabinet is old, rattles and I'm looking to upgrade to something new.

I also have a GK700 RB and a MB200, so having something that is 4 Ohms give me the option of running either a 8 or 4Ohm. My SWR currently is 2 Ohms so I cant use my GK's

Thank you. I could've been clearer, my question here revolves around since the DB410 is more commonly available, and 4 Ohms options exist, what difference could I expect from the DB410 and DB212. I think the cabinet in the 410 is larger (which lends itself to having an SVT physically on top).

Also, why did Aguilar give up on their DB's with 12's? The DB412 & DB212 have been discontinued. My 412 sounds absolutely ridiculous. I just need a smaller cab in my family room where I practice.

I've used multiple Aguilar cabs in either GS or DB configuration. I didn't really like the SL types I tried.
I ran 2xDB210 and this was good but the 212 smashed those out of the park so I went DB212 and BD210 at 4 and 8ohms to balance the load.
600w and 350w.

DB212 at 8ohms probably my best cab ever.
The 4ohm less so.
So never ran DB410 but I suspect that cab to be better than 2x210 because the box has a deeper depth.
IIRC, the dims of a DB212 and DB410 are pretty similar?
So, all else being equal, it would be weight of box and 2 chassis would be lighter than 4..?

And for something else, if you want a pocket battleship of a cab...its not as imposing as a DB212 but soundwise, the Epi 310ul is very very very close, imv.
Lighter and goes louder too.

Both cabs are faboulous! The db410 was the best sounding cab I ever played (and I played a LOT).
The db212 is the ONE cab I had the longest (it's lighter than the 410).
You can't go wrong with any of these.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to keep my eye out for a DB212 as long as it's 4 Ohms, otherwise sounds like I might be happy with the DB410.

Both cabs are faboulous! The db410 was the best sounding cab I ever played (and I played a LOT).
The db212 is the ONE cab I had the longest (it's lighter than the 410).
You can't go wrong with any of these.

What does each sound like? Any tonal comparisons or are they so similar its a non factor?

If memory serves me well, the db212 sounds deeper, the db410 is punchier.
For pick playing I preferred the db212, finger style I liked the 410 better (all this with active JJs)
Nowadays, I only play P and PJ basses. The db410 would suit me better.
BUT both are excellent cabs. I prefer them to any kind of Bergs, Ampeg fridges, Markbass, Ashdown, Baer..... cabs.

I recently bought two of the DB 2x10s. I think they work perfect for my SVT-VR because the head is only 2 or 4 ohms. The cabs I bought are 4 ohms each so I can use one for smaller gigs and both at 2 ohms for larger gigs. I find I get the tones I like with plenty of good low end. The DBs replaced a Heritage SVT 410HLF which I thought was way too boomy and bassy (I had to keep my bass knob at 9 o clock). I think the two cabs with an SVT is a better option if you are unable to find the DB 212. Also having the 2 DB 2x10s is much easier to transport than the 410HLF.

I lived with only one DB210 for many years. I thought it was an outstanding cabinet along with a LittleMark3 head. I only sold it as in my advanced years my back was having a tough time with the weight. They are heavy but I miss the tone. Great cab, IMHO.
