I recently started gigging my Aguilar 112x2 mini stack again. This being my absolute fav sounding cabs, they do stay cumbersome for quick load out/in gigs.
The amp being my beloved Mesa Walkabout, I was thinking if a Mesa Subway 212. (Don’t like the SL series)
Any realworld comparison between these?

I don't known how is comparison subway vs DB112, but I have Powerhouse 112 and DB112 (2pc). They are similar. Maybe DB has more low, or PH112 has more midrange ( I play without horn). The efficiency they have similar, so they can play together.

I owned 2 DB112s at a time that I paired with an AG500, then a DB751 and finally a TH350.

The DB112s are pretty heavy, and bulky. I've made the switch to keys and guitar for now but if/when I get back into bass I've pretty much already sold myself on the Mesa subway series.

I had 2 DB112s also. They were hernia inducing. They're gone now..
Recently sold my GS112s but they were much more manageable to me and I preferred them with the Tonehammer 500 over the DBs.

I want that trace head lmao
yes, this is the best amp which I ever play (ok AMpeq is ampeq, you love or hate it).
Even you adjust everything flat + Pre Shape sound is awesome. This 12 graphic correction, can save your speaker, I used to on high volume reduce 30Hz and 40Hz to not damage speaker. Also this correction can do what you need with your sound. Big disadvantage is 26kg for AH-1200-12 model. What is interesting on this amp string H is the most clean no overgain/dirt etc, On GK I have to strongly bass reduce to get clean and nice H string sound.

I love the sound of the DB cabs, but they are heavy. I wouldn’t hesitate to gig with a pair of 112 DB cabs, aside from the weight. (I used a dolly when I gigged.)

My home rig is a DB115 sitting on a DB212, with an AG500 running the rig. Yes yes, different speaker sizes combined… it’s my home rig. Love the tone - of both the amp and the cabs. The cabs feel so deep and warm to me.

Home rig? Hoping you have earthquake insurance!
