Aguilar DB751 question for owners

Recently bought one of these and absolutely love it. Having been used to tube heads with a standby switch or solid state with instant power up, I am wondering whether other owners switch theirs off in between sets, use the mute switch, turn down at the bass or....? Just asking because of the 45 second check/warmup period each time it is switched on.

Congrats on the new head.

IMHO the answer depends partly on whether you are using the amp's built in DI. If yes, leave the amp on and engage the mute to reduce the risk of sending any noise to FOH. If your not using the amp's DI, you could turn it off or use the mute switch, unless you need to be up and running in less than 45 seconds. One concern with turning the amp off, is the gain of some tubes fluctuates for a few minutes as they warm. If you notice this happening, I suggest leaving the amp on and using the mute switch.

Really good point thanks, I had not thought of that. Yes, I will definitely be using the built in DI so turning off is not an option. Guess it will be mute switch or use the bass's volume control then.

Nope, Music Planet are going out of Aguilar and basically sold it off at 25% discount. I just could not resist it. I believe Rockshop have taken over the dealership, so it will be interesting to see what happens to the prices. It is an absolutely amazing head.

Ah, I see. On of the guys on NZG said the bass pedals flew out the door.
