Aguilar gs12 cabs ????

I have the chance of buying 2 Aguilar gs1x12 cabs , currently I’m using an Eden nemesis 4x10 cab which I find really good so far ,,, but I’m wanting something lighter and easier to move around... I play in an 80s cover band and Use a Washburn status 1000 active headless and a musician stingray bass and like to slap and thump a bit but also play funky finger style too ,,, the head is an Aguilar tone hammer 500 .
Ok what would the two gs 1x12 cabs be like compared to my Eden and also for this style of music??? I can’t get to try them so it would be a leap of faith purchasing them .. any input would be great

I bought a pair a few years back and love them. Plenty of output but still easy to move around. Stack them vertically and you will be able to hear them on a loud stage. I got the deal of a century on mine and they never let me down.

The only way you will truly know is to buy them and try them. They can easily be resold as they are a unique exception to the rule "Low, Loud, Light- Pick 2".

Exactly, I’m faily fit but after transporting the 4x10 around at a weekend I can feel a twinge at the bottom of my back ...

These are great cabs! I use two of them with a Tonehammer and a DB750. They really sound great and are fairly lightweight. People always describe them as "mid-scooped" but I don't think that at all. Most cabs have some sort of mid bump (Eden, DB series Aggies) that the GS cabs do not. I think the GS cabs have a bit more fundamental low end which may or may not work for you. I would not hesitate to get them.

I have an old Eden 4x10 and much prefer the GS 112 as it tames the extreme low mid honk of the Eden. The GS also fattens up my Sting Ray and tames the clacky highs common to that bass. Plus if you don't like them, you probably won't have any issue reselling them.

BTW, I often gig with just one with my Tonehammer and no PA support. I never have an issue with volume

You may or may not get the same tight response but they're far from mushy. Most of it may depend on your amp. With the GK MB800 they have nice punchy mids and highs.

A BIG FACT about these cabs is 2 X GS112 (together) is much bigger than 1 GS112 x 2, if you follow that. They handle the low B like some 2-15s (no exaggeration).

If I was buying only 1 cab, it would not be one of these.

My main gigging rig has been comprised of a revolving door of heads but the pair of GS112's has been the mainstay for about 5 years. I love these cabs for the portability and flexibility of rig size. They consistently deliver great sound no matter what I put into them. I get many compliments from other bassists on the clarity and punch.

I suffer major GAS for basses, effects and even amplifiers but I have not had any thought of replacing the Aggies!

I am torn between my 2 GS112s and my Berg NV215! The Aguilars have amazing dispersion and projection from in front of them, right out to the dance floor to the back of the room- very even. I use mine sideways because I need the width for the Reeves head. But I have a homemade Decoupling pad (like an Auralex Great Gramma) that brings them up 4"
