Aguilar Tone Hammer 350

Just got my TH350 this afternoon. Loving the power and sound so far but think I might do better with a different cab. I have a 4 ohm Schroeder 15L which has served me well but I seem to be getting a lot of mid range growling. (hope that is the correct term for what I am hearing) The cab had a great sound with my Ampeg PF350 but it died after 2 weeks and decided not to get another one and try the TH350.
Has anyone tried the Hartke HX112 with the th350? They are quite affordable and have gotten fairly good reviews especially in having a full range sound with good lows.
Also any suggestions on eq settings on the th350 would be appreciated.

This probably doesn't help much but the "mid range growl" is my favorite thing about this amp
Turning the Drive all the way down, and the mid level and treble level to 9 o'clock seems to get rid of it for me.
You will definitely need to cut a bit of mid mids with that cab and that head. The suggestion above is good. Turn the drive off (which reduces low end and top end), and cut some mids around 400hz or so (the freq knob at around 10 o'clock.. mess with it between 9 o'clock and noon, with the mid level cut to around 10 o'clock). Boost bass to 1 o'clock or a touch more, and it should sound quite nice with that punchy little cab.

i do like the midrange growl that I can get and especially like it with my Grendel. Looking for more of a clearer thump with my Fury and Gretsch Eletromatic Hollowbody. Seems like some tweaking and better knowledge of the amp goes a long way.

After frying my backup amp, a Markbass F1, this past Wednesday, I purchased,
a TH350 as a replacement.
Man am I digging this amp!
Played it at our Good Friday and Easter services with my Crazy 88 and right out of the box it delivered the tone I am looking for. First thing I thought of was "streamliner" without the tubes.

Hey there. Just listed for sale/sold my Ampeg Portaflex rig and placed my order for a TH350 + DB112 today (heck yeah, 15% MF coupon)! I couldn't be more excited after 1. finding out that this little guy will fit nicely in my Mono "Guitar Tick" and 2. reading this thread.
I abandoned the PF series because I had serious reliability issues with my PF500 (3 warranty swaps due to thermal/limit/cutting out issues). I finally sold off the last one while it was still new. Also, the weight of the "Portaflex" amps and size of the PF cabs are laughable after discovering the Tone Hammer series heads and DB (not to mention the featherweight, but less affordable SL series)!
Anyway, there is a question in this rant... anyone previously (or currently) own a PF-500 and can tell me how the power stacks up to the TH350? I heard Ag makes better use of its watts, so I'm wondering if this is on par with what I'm coming from.
Also, anyone using the TH350 with 2 DB112 cabs? Pics? Thoughts?

I read somewhere on this forum that a member went through what you have and that his th350 blew away his PF500. I just went through taking a chance on a PF350 which lasted 2 weeks and stopped working. Returned to GC and got a TH350 this week from a member. I found that the PF350 was no louder than my GK MB200 and my TH350 was substantially louder and clearer than either of my previous amps.
Holy crap, I just saw this. That is one pimp rig. I love how your P5 almost matches the white hot tones. I wasn't that coordinated with my color choice: green monster. It may look cool with my black P5, but I think it will look ridiculous with my fireglo Rick. Either way, I'm excited. Congrats!

...well, plugged it in, riffed away with various settings, then cranked it to see how hard it could push my 400W 115 cab... power in my APT goes out!! We're talking all lights, TV, computer, everything. Turned the TH power switch to the off position... APT power comes back on! No lie!
It was the most awesomely rock n roll thing ever! The wife seemed to think otherwise though
I CAN'T wait to get this little monster out of my old NYC APT and paired with proper cabs (I have 1 of 2 DB112nt cabs coming Monday). Love so far!

I pulled out this old Raven Labs PHA-1 headphone amp/preamp today as I like to use it to do tone testing. Set it next to the Aggie TH350 & started thinking about how far amplification has come in 20 years!
Still super-happy with my TH350! Plenty of power, tone for days & no problems after 2 tours.

Yeah, I wonder why tho????? I send stuff internationally with ease. UK, Eu etc. Never had a problem
Not sure. With the few international dealings I've had, postage seems to counter the savings made from buying in the US. So it is a zero sum gain. The warranty doesn't carry over either.
A new Tone Hammer 350 here in Aus costs $700, so maybe it would be cheaper buying from the classifieds. The lack of warranty concerns me though...

can we all post our favorite th350 settings?
so far, this is still my favorite amp i've tried. i hooked up the th350 to my church's ampeg 410 hlf 4 ohm cab today and the amount of headroom i had was quite amazing. my church is about the size of a high school basketball gym and we have a full band with an elaborate PA system, but the sound person had me turn down my amp even when the pa's were off, saying i was too loud from the back of the room (gain and master were at 12)! so i turned down just the master to 10:00 and they put me through the pa.
btw, what is the sound difference between "gain" and "drive" knobs?

Another knob-noob question here. I just posted this in the TH500 mega-thread, but I'll try here as well since this page is getting more attention than I give it credit for. Good links will suffice for answers too...
