So it's been a while since I posted, but I got one of these bad boys back in early September. I can most certainly say it satisfies all my needs. I'm running it with an epifani 112, and man can it get loud. The only issue is I have to do some weird eqing to avoid making my Bass sound muddy. This probably just getting used to a modern setup with a short scale bass and flatwounds.

A 'glassy' top end is what you WON'T get with this amp (or the TH500)
But you certainly can get a natural sounding top end by turning off the DRIVE, keeping the gain low and raising the Treble to 2 oclock abouts.

I've read most of this thread and it appears that the majority of users are using the TH350 with 2- 8ohm cabs or 1- 4 ohm cab (350watts). I was wondering if any users have gigged or rehearsed using only half of the amps power, 175 watts @8ohms? And what were the results? Was wondering if the TH 350 would be for me, or save more $$ and spring for the TH 500? Thanks.
I gig the TH-350 regularly... Usually into either a pair of DB112NT's (combined impedance 4Ohms) or occasionally a Hartke 115XL (8 Ohms on its own) for small venues, and a couple of larger outdoor shows I've used the 115XL with a 210XL on top (combined impedance 4Ohms).
I play in a 3 piece funk/Rock/jazz trio, keys, bass, kit. And I also play in a 4 piece alternative rock band.
Gigs I find no problems with volume into 4 Ohms, two cabs...
When rehearsing I mainly use one 112NT or the 115XL... This is where the TH-500 would come in handy, occasionally I feel the need for a little more power at 8 Ohms as rehearsals can get loud... A single 112 can get lost but the 115XL cab is more sensitive and have more surface area and is quite obviously a louder cab @ 175w, holds its own with the TH-350.
Be aware min impedance of the TH amps is 4 Ohms, not 2...
So it's a combination of your volume requirements, cabs, room acoustics and budget, but I am kicking myself a little for not going the TH-500, it was budget at the time, but now I'm seriously looking at getting the TH-500 for single cab 8 Ohm situations.
My regular rig for a 300 seat bar playing blues and rock is a TH350 into a single 8ohm Bag End S15 and I never get past noon on the Gain and noon on the Master. Unless you need your amp to really be throwing out into the house or you play with stupidly loud guitarists a TH350 is probably going serve you pretty well. My rig can keep up with any drummer acoustically and in most rooms go loud enough to piss a sound man off.
I meant to add that 70% of the trio gigs are vocal PA only so the TH-350 is doing all the work to fill the room... It is truly an amazing little beast. Room size, PA support and cab play a huge part in wether you need that extra grunt.
Edit: also the HP filter with the 'drive' off is set quite low, so it has a lot of heft at its modest power rating... I love it.

Rule of thumb: If you have any doubt about needing more power and can afford it, get it.
That's what I was wondering. I'm currently using a Hartke 3500 and VX 4x10, 8 ohms-240 watts in both my bands. ( Blues and classic rock covers, the other all original alt.rock). That rig seems more than plenty. Never past '2-3' on volume.
Of course when I played metal I had a 1x15 hooked up also with the 4x10 for the full 350 watts turned up to 5 or 6.
I just wasn't sure which route would be best. Hate for me to spend extra $$ on the TH500 if I didn't need to, but likewise don't want to be underpowered with the TH350.

I was in this exact situation, I thought 350, how could I need more than that... but as I said, occasionally I feel the 500 would have been the better choice... It's not a straight forward logic problem, it's a complicated one

When I first got my TH350, I rehearsed and gigged with just a single 8 ohm 1x12. It was fine and all, but I did occasionally have a feeling of having to strain it to get the volume I wanted (drummer + 2 guitarists + 3 band members on vocals, classic/hard rock). Since picking up a second 1x12, everything is just fine with it. I'm currently playing with 2 guitarists with half Marshall stacks, and it keeps up no prob with the gain and master at about noon.
Personally I really like the TH350. I could have bought a TH500, I suppose I still could, but I love the small form factor, the ability for it to tuck into a gig bag if needed, and its always nice to save a few $$$.
I bought the 350. Worked with it clipping 3/4 of the time for a few months and pony'd up for the 500 and couldn't be happier.
I just acquired a TH 350 to replace my TC Electronic BH250. I'm pairing it with a Bergantino HD112 and it sounds fantastic.
The TC was good at many things, just not great. The Aguilar is much louder, fuller sounding and capable of a dark grittier tone

Kind of a noob question but I would like to have a solid state option that has a great tone range. I feel like the TH350 is a good call. What I would like to know is: Can I run this unit though my Super Redhead speakers while I shop for a new cabinet? The Super Redhead already pushes 350 at 4 ohms... I can't personally see a problem with this maybe one of you can...
First, welcome to Talkbass! ...not sure what you're asking, though. Are you planning on pushing the TH350 through the Redhead combo speakers in place of the internal amp? I would guess that wouldn't be a problem. But if you're looking to combine it with the Redhead amp's output, that could get more complicated.
Thanks for the warm welcome and quick response. My plan would be to just power the Super Redheads internal speakers with the TH350. I wouldn't be combining the the two amps in any way.
