Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 vs. TC Electronics RH450 (Tone) ?

Hey there,
I played both so I can tell you my personal opinion.
The Aguilar it sounds pretty versatile already with flat eq when you start to change the controls eq the tone change quickly, the increase and decrease of the frequencies is well balanced with the control.
The Tc electronic sounds good too but to my ears is more "middle" sounds, so if you want to get a "regular" tone you need to adjust the middles.
Both have a good power output, both warm and probably the TH500 has also nice high calibration, so you can get a bright sound too but not crispy.
On the TC's you get a more middle warmer tone with some cuts on the highs.
On my opinion the TH500 is more balanced on tone, so at the end more versatile.

I agree with this. I've played both in a store and own the RH750. I wasn't really a fan of either the TH500 or the RH450 so its hard to say which one I would recommend. The RH series are geared to sound like an old tube amp, so I think that will make it the one with the thicker/warmer/fatter tone. I prefer the RH750 or GK MB800 to either of them.
No. I owned both at the same time and they both can get very loud. I still have the RH450 and the Tonehammer is long gone.
I would say the TC is more like a humbucker and the TH500 is more like single coils. Does that make sense? The TC is fatter, more compressed and less dynamic sound to my ears and IMO the TH500 is a "better" more nuanced, dynamic and subtle bass sound.
There are some great players using both makes. Again it's just down to preferences. My Staccato and RH750 didn't last long and I've been using the TH500 and AG700 since they came out. YMMV

Agree on it being down to preference as the TH500 was more of a rumble machine to me while the RH heads just cut through a band mix perfectly.
Now the Stacatto was a weird amp. All boom and sizzle and lacking in volume to me. However Rocco liked it so again, down to personal preference.
