On the TC's you get a more middle warmer tone with some cuts on the highs. On my opinion the TH500 is more balanced on tone, so at the end more versatile.
No. I owned both at the same time and they both can get very loud. I still have the RH450 and the Tonehammer is long gone.Is one objectively louder than the other?
Agree on it being down to preference as the TH500 was more of a rumble machine to me while the RH heads just cut through a band mix perfectly.I would say the TC is more like a humbucker and the TH500 is more like single coils. Does that make sense? The TC is fatter, more compressed and less dynamic sound to my ears and IMO the TH500 is a "better" more nuanced, dynamic and subtle bass sound.
There are some great players using both makes. Again it's just down to preferences. My Staccato and RH750 didn't last long and I've been using the TH500 and AG700 since they came out. YMMV
