Aguilar Tone Hammer DC IN

Yesterday I tried to power my Tone Hammer with the 12V output of my Fuel Tank and it seems to be workign ok. There were other 4 pedals connected to the Fuel Tank as well (to the 9V outputs).
I think I might though considering selling the fuel tank to go for the Dunlop DC brick (which has 18v output) or look for a separate regulated 18v 500mA power supply....

Now...after some months...Could someone tell me how much mA does it really need???

I have mine powered with two 9V batteries at the moment. But I've also powered it with 9V coming from a Godlyke Power-All chain, and it works just fine. 18V or 24V are ideal for maximum headroom, but it does run on 9V and sounds basically the same. If you're really driving your rig hard you won't get the same headroom out of 9V.

Resurrecting ancient thread:

I got a Tone Hammer pre incoming, replacing my BDDI, and am using a FuelTank Chameleon to power my pedalboard.

According to the manuals the Chameleon 18V output only have 150mA of juice and the ToneHammer requiers 300mA.

Written specs and real life tend to differ, so you Tone Hammer pre users, is there any way I can power the pedal with the Chameleon, or do I have to get a separate 18V supply - which I really want to avoid?

Edit: re-reading the Aguilar manual the pedal only draws 7mA, then it should run fine on the Chameleon 18VDC. Still it would be nice with some input from ToneHammer users.

The ToneHammer runs fine from the 18V outlet on the FuelTank Chameleon. And sounds darn good too

I know, it's an old thread... I'm using my Tone Hammer with VoodooLab ISO-5 power supply, which has a dedicated 18V output (isolated). I just visited their site and found that its 18V output is only 100mA. But my Tone Hammer works perfectly. So, I'm sure, your power supply may have less than 0.5A.

A fellow swedish bassplayer wrote to Aguilar and go the reply that the ToneHammer will actually run on 18V, 20mA. They really should put that in the manual, instead of the confusing 300mA/7mA stuff.

Still, I'm just happy that the Chameleon and ToneHammer make sweet, sweet tone love on my pedalboard

if you don't need much headroom, you can run it on 9V as well... just saying
