Akai Deep Impact

What is the deal with this pedal? I had one sitting in my closet for years and I never really cared for it much. It went on Ebay for a bunch of money (4 times what I paid for it). Did somebody famous use one on a hit record or something?

It sounds fantastic and tracks like no other. Not much more to say that hasn't been yet in the 100 or so existing threads about it.

i bought mine for 99 shipped from MF. just didn't sound like a real synth to me (as most synth bass pedals don't, IMHO). if i want a synth, i'll just bring my laptop with Reason and a midi keyboard or use an EWI (i used to be a trumpet player).

i sold mine for 650 so i'm not really complaining, just wasn't my cup of tea.
