I'm not a big fan of drinking either. I still enjoy a couple beers or a glass of wine with dinner, but getting drunk... just doesn't appeal to me at all. Getting ****ed up in general just doesn't appeal to me, drugs alcohol what's the difference. I think I'm going to go on a vision quest now :eyebrow:

+1.. I actually get more respect for NOT drinking anything all night (either that or the rest of the band loves drinking my slice of the rider)!... seriously, I just hate the feeling of being drunk or stoned etc... its' just a blurry mess. I like 1 nice drinkin' beer at the start of the night during sound check and THATS IT. What really pisses me of if people pressuring me/other people into drinking, its just NOT ON.. Bro, if you don't like drinking don't sweat it.

I worked as a barman for 2 years and during that time I have seen the effect of alchohol on lots of different people and 9/10 its and ugly thing to behold... :scowl:

Negra Modelo is my current fav.

Its a great dark mexican beer that taste just as good or better warm.

Yeah that is a good one. Another good mexican one is Pacifico, but I like NM better.

My favorite beer is Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA. You guys try that one? I'm a big fan of IPA. I like the kick from the extra hops. It's hard to go back to regular beer after you get used to these my friends - be warned!

With that list, if you aren't a chick, you should be. Men drink beer,
whiskey (either Scotch, Irish, or Canadian) and on occasional shot such as tequila. Anything else, and you are in danger of having your man card recalled.

YES. This guy just metaphorically hit a nail on it's head.

Beer, Cider, Lager.
Whiskey.

You wanna be a man? drink men drinks.
(this coming from a 16 year old that looks 21;))

If you're looking to build your resistance to alcohol, big meal beforehand is good. carbohydrates. bread, beans, etc. rice = nono.

Basically, when you're drunk you emotions are exaggerated. so if you get punched, whatever your reaction might be sober, it would be far more exagerated. (do note, exageration in everything apart from sensibility)

Happy 21st though dude! enjoy it!

Alcohol doesn't suck, getting drunk does.

I've basically given up alcohol, haven't been drunk since I was 18. I don't need the damage to my health, I don't need the hassle. Plus, if you don't blow cash on booze you've got more in your pocket. It's win/win.

So basically, you've been on the board a month, and you specifically sought out threads related to drinking. There's an entire wealth of bass knowledge on this board, and at 16, you chose to find discussions related to getting drunk. Fine work.

Spankbass, you've got it right! I've watched many destroy there life with alcohol including dying. Alcohol destroyed my marriage; we sold our home in Southern California that we bought for $319K in 1993 and it's up to $950K now. My son was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and is now 73 days clean and sober after 6 months of pure self-destructive-overdosing-overdrinking behavior. I had to stop touring to be home and care for my children that were too young to be left with their mother. I ended up getting full custody in the divorce.

I've lived and seen the "sex, drugs and rock n roll" lifestyle first hand. I'm one of the very few lucky ones that did not end up an addict.

Alcoholism is at epidemic proportions and the saddist part is that some will read this and laugh it off, but they'll be well on their way to full blown addiction.
