Your own, by the sounds of it... :D

As far at the whole drinking thing goes, everybody has their bad experiences. My worst was probably getting carried unconscious through London after a big session on an empty stomach. I'm just thankful that my friends were good enough to put up with it. Everything in moderation, including moderation...

As an old saying goes "you use alcohol you dont ABuse it". For the past 3 years I was drinking 10 pints of lager a night  and I was the guy who originally had enough after 3 pints and didnt even really like the taste..(To this day I cant stomach Guiness and I'm Irish!!)..but due to unemployment and working as a gigging musician fulltime playing/miming crap tunes to muppets 5 nights a week took a toll on me, I got to the stage where I had to get wasted before I did a gig..just to get through it.

So, just before last Christmas I hit the whole lot on the head, I gave up the covers scene and got myself a 9 to 5 job doing graphics (which I originally trained to do) and limited my drinking to 1 night a week and I must say I'm a different person, I dont wake up with an aching head and fuzzy eyes and my concentration is now razor sharp, the great thing is I'm now getting some sweet session gigs where I'm constantly being challenged musically (There's no way in hell I could've done this 6 months ago).

Dont get me wrong I do enjoy my few pints but as they say "moderation in all things"..and when I think of the money I spent on alcohol over the past 3 years.. :rollno: .

I think we can all agree that moderation is the key when it comes to anything. The important things to do when drinking are:

1. Make sure you know how much you can handle.
2. If you're going to get drunk, make sure you have a way to get home, have a friend to take care of you, etc, just in case.
3. Drink a lot of water when you're done, or even during the drinking. Keeps you in check a little and helps prevent dehydration, also helps prevent hangovers.

All that in my very short experience of drinking. Basically be responsible. Anything can hurt you, and drinking is no exception.

alcohol is a drug that takes some getting used to for most. I didn't like it for years, but now I drink all the time. If you like to rembember things, don't drink whiskey. It's hard to get too drunk off of beer, though, and good times can be had.

still terrible stuff, but many learn to love it;.

I'm about 145lbs, and these were all done in about a 3 hour timeframe.

1. Kamkazie (very good!)
2. Vodka and cranberry juice
3. Stoplight (technically 3 shots, but I'll count it as one drink)
4. I think it was called an Irish something or other. It was this HORRIBLE tasting beer that I had to down half of then drop a shot in and down again. I think this is what made me sick, it was terrible tasting.
5. Blowjob
6. 3 wisemen
7. Lemon Drop
8. Shot of Vodka

DAMN YOU TO HELL MAN! you should try drinking beer man, so much better than chicks drinks. you may not like it at first, but keep drinking it till u like it, it becomes righteous. in australia, if u dnt drink beer, ur a poof :p hey, has anyone tried the 100shots of beer in 100 minutes. Im taking up the challenge this weekend soon. doesnt sound hard or seem hard, but apparently, its hard! :D im man :smug:

Chips :bassist:

I like a good scotch, quality beer, red wine, and tequila. I do not drink mixed drinks, and I drink for taste, not quantity. I probably have a couple drinks a week. Occasionally more, but sometimes I'll go a month without anything.

My current favorite is: (Macallam, cask strenght)

I've been drinking margeritas and tequila sunrises. I'd never do a shot of tequila straight but it certainly adds zing to the afore-mentioned drinks. :)
IMO, Tequila is like any other spirit. A GOOD Tequila can be (should be) sipped just like a bourbon or scotch served straight up. Too many people think that Cuervo Gold is good Tequila (it's not) and hafta shoot it to avoid tasting it for too long.

I've tried Absinthe (70%, 90proof), it was a fun experience. Didn't trip tho, as I'd been drinking beforehand and I was poor.

Shot #1: my neck involuntarily jerks, jaw locks shut. Damn.
Shot #2: My jaw locked open, and I was foaming!
Shot #3: night night. :)
Didn't pass out or anything, I just reached the stage or stupidness. I was the comedian for the night. I also won the staring contest with the wall.

Friday night I had a lot of drinks, and a wide variety. Still havent slept! the hangover on Saturday sucked. I have a rule that I never allow myself to be sick, cuz what goes down, its staying there, as a "reminder". However, it was getting to much to handle. Whnever I sat down, id feel ill, and like i could puke on the spot, but whenever i went to the bathroom, i felt great! Now that's mean. :)

I remember at my ex's party, someone gave the dog drinks :spit: . The dog had had whiskey before (my ex's uncle put his dirnk on the floor... 2 mins later it was gone :D ). The dog was OK, but she was drunk! Staggering everywhere, walking into doors and a big silly puppyish grin. :)
