Alcohol sucks

Big 21st b-day party last night. I've been getting all the comments like "Now you can drink legally!" all month, and it was difficult to explain that I never really did drink illegally that much.

Anyway, I was good and prepared, had lots of water, ate a big meal, but I guess I was still too much of a lightweight because the night ended with me throwing up everywhere and needing to be carried into a car and then into my bed. I threw up on a couple of my friends too, good times.

I gotta ask, what is the point of getting that drunk? I just felt dizzy and couldn't talk right; it really wasn't THAT much fun. I don't see why people go out every weekend with the intention of getting flat on their ass drunk. A casual drink or two is fine, but if you go to a party and intend to pass out and vomit then something is friggin wrong with you.

So here is the night's breakdown, for you sick bastards that are curious:

I'm about 145lbs, and these were all done in about a 3 hour timeframe.

1. Kamkazie (very good!)
2. Vodka and cranberry juice
3. Stoplight (technically 3 shots, but I'll count it as one drink)
4. I think it was called an Irish something or other. It was this HORRIBLE tasting beer that I had to down half of then drop a shot in and down again. I think this is what made me sick, it was terrible tasting.
5. Blowjob
6. 3 wisemen
7. Lemon Drop
8. Shot of Vodka

And my 20 year old friend bought me a chocolate milk. :D

PS, on my actual birthday last tuesday, I went to a nice Italian Food place and had wine with my girlfriend and my mom. I liked that better. :)

Man you learned in one night what took me a few years to learn. I still enjoy an occasional beer with hot wings or mexican food, but for the most part binge drinking is something I had to put down and walk away from. Dude you aren't missing anything. :bassist:

I'll try to be brief, but...

I got drunk for the first time when I was 17. I previously had enjoyed a margarita or two at a friends house, and cut myself off, but this time I wasn't going home for a few days and I killed 3/4 a bottle of Bacardi Dark with LOTS of Coke to drink. I passed out, wet myself in a friend's car, and only regained conciousness a few hours later. I didn't get drunk again for months, but this should have been a warning sign.

Hopefully the experience was so miserable for you that you'll never do it again, and may even be unable to. What made you puke was pure volume of alcohol consumed, not some secret mix of liquor/beer/sugar/whatever. I found that over time, I could consume that much booze and more. I weighed 125 and could kill a 1.75 liter of hard alcohol chased down with a case, and then wake up ready, and in fact needing, more. For days on end. I'd leave class, or mix vodka with my Mountain Dew and suck it down while listening to a lecture. The fact that I COULD do this alone was a good sign that I was an alcoholic, and I ignored it--alcoholics lived in the street and went to meetings, and maybe looked like Nicholas Cage, right?

I wasted years of my life, could've ended up dead, lost my girlfriend, who is now my wife, and had -zero- chance of a career in music instead of the slim one I have now. Alcoholism is real, deadly, and if you're going to indulge in drinking regularly, you owe it to yourself to do some research--if you see too many early warning signs, you might consider abstaining.

I just hit 5 years clean and sober, and I love my life now. I have no problems with other people drinking, the guys in my band do it right in front of me, but the strongest drink I touch any more is an O'Douls, if that. Have fun, but for your own sake, don't let the above story happen to you. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

And avoid light beer, the stuff is crap, I don't care what anyone says :)

That's true, my wife thinks I'm hot, too after a couple shots of tequila :D .

Er...I just read what I wrote, didn't mean it to sound so doom-n-gloomy, it's just that I believe it's important. Sorry to go on, but not enough to delete the post :)

So to summarise:

- Alcohol does not suck
- Alcoholism sucks
- Just because you have one "big night" does not mean you are an alcoholic
- Alcohol may or may not help you pull (ugly) chicks
- Alcohol may or may not cause you to make a ass of yourself

I've heard that getting wasted off of wine has very very bad consequences the morning after.

My friend says it's the best drunk he ever had. And as for your first night binge drinking? I've been there. 14 beers, 1 pint or so of Crown Royal chugged in 2 attempts. 2 or 3 shots of vodka, a pint of screwdriver (mixed 3/4 vodka 1/4 OJ) and a cooler, some other 'extra curriculars' = passed out for an hour throwing up for three. Those numbers may be a bit high because I can't remember what happened after beer #5 and all the crown royal. After that it gets progressively fuzzy so I relied on friends for that total. That was my second time getting drunk....lesson learned.

That said I've now learned my limits and can tell when my body is telling me to stop. Thanks to university, rugby, and various binges I can now polish off a 24 in about 3 hours or so and still remember what happened that night/ no ralphing.

I have heard that Saki (or the Vietnamese equivalent) makes one think it is stylish to carry a man purse. :D
Since you are the master of manliness I thought Id ask you where I stand.

I drink beer, and only beer unless someone hands me a free drink of something else and I have no access to beer, or they are an incredibly hot woman.

Here is where it gets kinda fuzzy.

I carry a man bag of sorts while drinking my beer.

On Topic:

What you did wasnt drinking, what you did was called getting absolutely messed up beyond all reason. You most definetly dont have to do that to enjoy alcohol.

Based on this post only, I'd say you were probably male.
