Alembic Balance K "inspired" (semi-replica) build

Now comes that magical point where the big stick with all those metal things on it, melds with the other parts that have been taking up way too much time....
And the thing starts to look more or less bass like!

Glueing on the core wings:

I forgot to mention, I rough cut out the e-cavity with a jig saw, and cleaned it up on the spindle sander....prior to gluing the wing on.
Much quicker / easier than waiting until the top & back plates are on and routing it out...!

Yeah. ...I know,...I could use a caul or two and cut way down on clamps.
Ah...what the heck... 6 of one, half dozen of the other.....

Flush cut bit to trim the panels to the already finished shaped core.....and....

Gonna drill (cut) two big holes with a hole saw....
Then just spindle sand to the line

I used to play out with a band...but that was about 25 Years ago....
Remember clubs in the valley like; Rockers, Mr.Lucky's, Mason Jar, The Bootlegger....Black Widows Night Gallery. ....?....

Nowadays I am better at building basses than playing.....but....
Yeah I was building this bass for myself, BUT everything is for sale.

The list of clubs you've played reads a lot like mine, except I played a lot in the Tempe scene also.
And, I got my fretted 5 string at Bizarre back in the day, at their tiny old location closer to Camelback.

Man, this is a small town.
