Could this be inflation?

It seems like more than simple inflation.
I understand that Alembic makes a high quality , hand crafted product that has uniquely been designed in house. I understand they are a smaller company that is looking to pay their employees a living wage. I am sure being based in California is a factor as it is more expensive to live there than a lot of other areas.
I no longer own an Alembic so I am less in touch with the company, their wait times and how active the Alembic player community is.
What the price list tells me is that they are priced out of the majority of bass players budgets. They have always been more niche and boutique but there is a lot more competition out there today that have an excellent product at a way lower price.

I want an Alembic bass.

For no reason at all, really.

I'm a very limited electric bass player - I'm really an upright player. I have exactly zero need for or application where an Alembic would do anything at all for me.

And yet....

From an old last-generation hippie, coming of age in the late 70s and early 80s, Alembic basses had a reputation and mystique that I still feel today.

Never mind that I wouldn't even pay that much for an upright.

I've had a few. The electronic package in the Series is pretty good but I wouldn't spend the coin on one again at those prices.

Hi all. I am trying to identify a pair of Alembic pickups i have. So far ive narrowed it down to either AXP or MXP.
Can anyone help me to correctly ID them please...
