The bass turned 30 a few days ago… It was inspired by the Alembic basses and expertly built by my friend Željko Stubičar(Croatia), a master guitar builder, combined with some of my ideas. It is also a result of many discussions, all-nighters and searches for quality guitar wood suppliers in Germany (and beyond),making two prototype at the end of 1980s. Finally, we opted for this variant.
30 years have passed and the bass is still in excellent condition! Ergonomically, it's a very original 3D variant (neck is at an angle to body, curved form). The wood that I bought in Germany is East Indian rosewood, padouk
and wenge. The electronics and hardware are still super functional. We got the ebony and hardware from Warwick, the electronics from Alembic, and the maple is old and locally grown.
Of course, it's not for sale, I just wanted to say thanks to my friend, the master builder, for 30 years of enjoyment of owning and playing this bass, unique on our „3rd stone from the Sun“.
