I asked him last month to find or make a case since it's such a weird shape. I figured it would slow things down some, at this point I'm hoping for an early Christmas present. Here it is:
Looks like they got the hardware installed! I requested no electronics so other than strap pins it looks done to me; we'll see how long it takes to get shipped...
I had a tracking number and it was equally as useful as not having a tracking number.
Yeah, I mean, it would be nice but I’m so used to waiting now that I don’t think it will make a difference
Finally got it home and open:
Packed with styrofoam, tape, and optimism (no cardboard was hurt in the packaging of this bass)

The paint job is much, much better than the pictures he was sending, I think they did a pretty amazing job.
Unfortunately, there are a couple of issues further north:
You’d have a really hard time convincing me that happened during shipping. I can paint that though, it’s not super noticeable until you see the wood. Unfortunately, it gets worse:
The angle on the B string is so much that it pops right out of the nut at tension. I’m hoping there’s a string retainer of some sort that might address it, otherwise it’s wall art.
So, it looks amazing and may be salvageable. Not exactly what I hoped for going in, but I knew the risks and that I was asking for something a little out there.

That's how I felt about mine, I wasn't totally convinced by the pictures, but it looks way better in person. Really sucks about the issues with yours, especially with the wait you had.
I’m hoping that a stealth string retainer will hold it down enough to keep it from popping out. I’ve got one coming on Monday, if that works then I’ll be pretty happy.
