Nah, you won't hurt anything. I always run actives without hitting the active pads on any amps I've ever used. Never once took out an amp.Hey @JimmyM, I am having a bit of a dilemma when switching basses. All of my basses are active, but my P's preamp isn't as hot as the others. When I switch the pad jumper to -15db, my P bass barely squeaks through (it sounds like S#!+). To "fix" this, I am running the SCR-DI (with the pad on normal) through the effects loop. All basses benefit here, but am I going to hurt anything? I understand that I am kind of defeating the purpose of having a preamp, but should I be concerned with anything else? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, man. ...Just sent em a little note.Nah, you won't hurt anything. I always run actives without hitting the active pads on any amps I've ever used. Never once took out an amp.
I would also suggest writing to Ampeg and mentioning this, as even though I don't need it, it would make more sense to have a button on the front rather than have a jumper. And if enough people write in with this concern, they will do something about it, I believe.
I bought mine used. Worth every penny. It looks really nice - I was actually thinking about getting one. Not that anything in the SansAmp is really lacking. Then it hit me. They basically they took the front end from an amp that sells for less than $300, or almost the same as the BA110 that sells for less than 180, put it in a metal box, and people are going to pay 200 for it? I guess the folks at Ampeg are smarter than I thought. It would have been nice if they had the classic 5 way switch on the mid-range control.

+1 on that. It would have been nice to have more of a selection of Mid frequencies on the pedal to choose from besides 500k. Running my EWS Bass Mid Control pedal into the SCR-DI fixes that issue. That classic 5-way mid-range control comes in handy on my Ampeg PF500 head for sure.
You don't like it or you're selling for another reason?I got one for sale if anyone's interested send me a PM
No doubt. I was leaning toward a VT pedal, almost pulled the trigger then this was announced.I just like my VT a little better and I have 3 DIs. Lol I'm just not using it. I'd let it go for $175
