All-New Ampeg SCR-DI!

A Google search for "NAMM 2015 Ampeg" resulted in this today and I hope it can drive a power amp!

pretty cool. the only thing is, is that I don't consider a Scrambler an 'overdrive' (or at least not a 'normal' OD). to me, they're more of a fuzz pedal.

Yeah, I was wondering if they are just reusing the name for OD or if it will truly sound like those big old scrambler pedals. If it does sound like a classic Scrambler, you'd expect them to have put a gain knob on there or something to get some grit. Again, unless the "Scrambler" is now the ampeg dirt sound here.

you're 100% correct. it's probably the same preamp as used in their new BA-115 combo, and from the sound of this demo, the scrambler in it doesn't sound like their previous scrambler pedal so it looks like this one will be a very nice sounding unit

Too big for my pedalboard.

I'm also more and more reluctant to buy pedals with multiple functions (drive and eq/di in this case) as I seemingly always only like one of the included functions and thus have to pay for and use up space for something I'm not using. But if the combination works for you that can of course be a plus rather than a minus.

Interesting...looks like a cool pedal. The Scrambler circuit is definitely not the original Scrambler pedal...the original Scrambler stiffed in the marketplace twice so according to my AR guy, you won't be seeing it again made by Ampeg any time soon. But I have a BA112 v2 and the current Scrambler isn't bad at all for an add-on distortion to an amp. Didn't expect much out of it before I got the amp but it's pretty decent.
