I've been fine using a 1-Spot.

Glad you guys are enjoying it. Bodeanly, I don't know if "murder" batteries is the correct term. I got a little over 6 hours with a Duracell. Not the most conservative with power, but it should get you through most gigs as long as you don't set up 3 hours before and leave it plugged in the whole time.

This is my first post here. I don't think the others are understanding your question. The Pedal Power is great, but overkill for a single pedal. I am having success with this adapter (the 12V version):

It's a bit expensive, especially with the added shipping, but was the best option I could find. It is 200mA and while the SCR-DI is supposed to require 500mA, it works fine. You could probably get away with a 9v 100mW of which many are available (you can get the Planet Waves version from Amazon for $10).

While I'm posting, I want to thank JimmyM for his posts about the SCR-DI. I found out about the pedal when searching for recommendations for a small practice amp. I came across one of JimmyM's posts about the SCR-DI and thought that might work better than an amp. I then read this entire thread and decided to grab one. I got the last one that was available on Amazon. I connect it directly to a EV ELX112P powered speaker and it sounds great. Everyone who has heard it thinks it is terrific. I have a friend who is in the middle of recording an album who immediately asked to use it for recording bass tracks rather than trying to mic an amp as he would normally do.

I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this but when I go through my SCR-DI into my FOcusrite Scarlett 2i2 and into my iMac I have to turn the volume up to 3 o'clock for decent volume. When I plug my headphones in I only need to go to about 10 o'clock or 11 o'clock for volume.

Used my SCR-DI yesterday at church for the first time direct to FOH. Had the Scrambler on with both drive and blend @ 11:00 - Bass @ 12:00 - Mids @ 10:00 and Treble @ 10:00. No problems, sounded great. The sound tech tweaked it a bit on his end and told me he liked what he was hearing as well. I would still love to hear a comparison video or clips comparing the Tech 21 VT to the SCR-DI. I don't have access to a VT in my area to be able to do it myself.

Used my SCR-DI on a fly gig at Hershey Park on Saturday. Been scared to bring the REDDI and didn't really need anything but a mild overdrive for one song that we ended up not doing anyway, so the SCR-DI was perfect. Soundman dug it, crew dug it, I didn't get to hear it in the house since I was cabled, but I took their word for it. Admittedly it's not the REDDI, but still quite good. Used it with a Ray-O-Vac long life alkaline, had it plugged in for 5 hours, which covered soundcheck/rehearsal and first 90 minute show, thought about keeping it in, then I chickened out and changed it for the second show. Next time I'll probably just bring a 1-Spot, though.
