L-R: early 90s MIJ PB57, vintage 1962 Jazz Bass (slab board), 2019 Geddy Lee Jazz, '91 US AVRI 62 P bass
The 57 is heavily modded to make it more like a real '57. I bought it new as a teenager, did a few mods, sold it, then found it last year in a local music store. The rear pickup is disconnected. Just dropped a Duncan SPB-1 in it. This one stays tuned down a half step, strung with rounds.
The '62 Jazz came to me via the guy replacing our roof. It had EMGs, and was missing the pickguard. But it played great and the neck is VERY stable. It now has 5% overwound Lindy Fralins in it. Strung with rounds.
The Geddy Lee is a 2019 MIM I snagged via craigslist for very cheap. I swapped out the pickups for a set of 20-year-old US fender pickups given to me by a famous bass
player (last name rhymes with curly). Sounds great. Bonus: Turns out the pickups that came in it are Fralins. Setting those aside for future use. Strung with rounds.
The 62 Reissue (US AVRI) was another craigslist acquisition, from over a decade ago. Again, very cheap price. Was having problems with the set up so I made the decision to do a very expensive complete re-fret. It's freaking perfect now. Strung with black nylon tapes.
