All the World is a Stage! Strange stages..

I'm sure a lot of us had played in/on places that weren't particularly made for bands. I know I've played some weird stages ,
1. On top of an 18 wheeler bed.
2. On a boat in a lake
3. On top of plywood in a gravel parking lot.
4. In a storage shed
5. On top of a roof
6. On a pier
7. In college lunch room
8. A backyard
9. On the street

How bout you guys, lets hear your non-stage gigs.

I played amongst the patrons in a cafe, the stage was way too small so it was filled by the drummer and amps, so we just rocked out between tables

Played in/on/at all of the above list (or variations thereof) except for the boat.
I can add a Co-op (farm supply outlet) concrete loading dock to the list.

What's up with the guy in the orange in the last pic?

The guy in orange is the drummer. He was standing on the ground playing drums tied to the branches.

Speaking of boats, I've played "I'm On A Boat" on a boat. That was fun.

Wow! A salt mine! Any pics of the Salt Mine? I've seen your tree pics somewhere before, Pklima, in another thread – always a treat.



For me...

Poop deck of a Chinese sailing junk;

Jamming on the various ferries here;

on a Sampan;

Heli-pad on a cruise ship;

Football (soccer) pitch;

Friends had a tram party, but I couldn't make it as I had a bar gig that night ;

TINY Pedestrian alley (5'-7' wide) for an Irish festival;

Street for a Wine festival;

"Sitting Out Area" between two MTR (subway/lightrail) entrances;

Hair Salon-cum-Speak Easy;

Various Bookstores;

Beach;

Graveyard;

Entertained the queues for cable car/gondola;

For about a week-and-a-half... a Large shopping mall, dressed as an elf, wheeling my doublebass along whilst playing Christmas carols up and down escalators... not recommended, as it's hard on the note-stopping wrist (wrong angle of bass while wheeling it), also one of the escalator's moving handrail thing-a-ma-bobs snapped my bridge in half;

...most recently, at a container terminal underneath a HUGE overpass for cars/trucks/trains.

I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting.

We shot in and around a Large Mausoleum at a cemetary.

Wow! A salt mine! Any pics of the Salt Mine?

Sadly none that I can find, but here are some other people playing in the same chapel in the same mine.

Salt walls, salt altar, salt chandeliers, salt everything... I played there twice with a children's choir at some special Masses for the feast of St. Barbara, who is the patron saint of miners.

Where ever that is, I want to be there.

If it makes you feel any better, getting them to pay for that gig took months, LOL.
