All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

A mere 57 years ago, just a few short months after Please Please Me’s release, The Beatles pose with producer George Martin in celebration of the album hitting 250,000 sales and making it to ‘silver’ status. Although almost immediately after making the recording Martin looked over the mixing desk and said, "Gentlemen, you have just made your first number one record", little did they know the heights to which they would eventually rise!
Ringo famously wanted to open a hair salon after The Beatles first success. I think John said he would have pursued art more fervently, like his pal Stu had. George may have gone back to his electrician job. Only Paul, IIRC, actually had a conversation with George Martin about continuing to pursue a musical career.

A lot of people were depressed about the breakup of The Beatles. I know I was! But, I would expect that Paul probably had the worst case. At least I don't recall any of the others admitting such. I think he realized what great synergy they had together, when they got along, and was not looking forward to "going it alone" or learning to work with others.
And he certainly had a hard enough time finding such close collaborators as needed for a long-term touring band. At least, I got the impression he tried to collaborate with his Wings-mates. I really dunno, but perhaps his current bandmates are more like hired guns than the previous "egos" looking to make their own names (or Beatles level bucks).

I think that they were always sidemen hired by McCartney. Wings went through many iterations but there was never an equal partnership as a band. There were financial disputes and other issues that caused people to leave. People that work for him now have their own projects as well.
I think that his Elvis Costello writing collaboration with Flowers In The Dirt was his best shared work. Then there was Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. They all pushed him to do his best beyond good enough.
Yes, this is a bass forum, but it's a Beatles' thread--and he was a Beatle.

It was 63 years ago today, July 6, 1957, where John and Paul met.
Looking at that poster, it feels like something from way, way back in the Victorian Era, or something.
Yet, one of the principals is still alive and kicking!
No, Rick, I don't think this has been mentioned here. I don't ever remember seeing or hearing about it. I just binged the first 2 episodes and I gotta go do other stuff, but I wanna get back to it!

It seems to be a McCartney documentary series, but pretty much entirely assembled by a fan. I think it just was released within the past few weeks. It's remarkable, anyone remotely interested in Macca needs to watch it!

Wow! That solo has a totally different feel than anything else in the song. Easy to see why it stayed on the cutting room floor, so to speak. But interesting, nonetheless.

The Beatles just remastered their 1st album. It sounds great but the vocals are a little muffled. It’s went viral twice now.
