That rumor ties in nicely with Ringo's 1974 Goodnight Vienna album.
Well! Now I'm bummed that they obviously just superimposed Ringo's head (and chest star) onto Michael Rennie and Klaatu's photo. He didn't get to really wear the suit and stand on the spaceship!
Did they even have Photoshop back then?.

Nope, PhotoShop didn't exist back then. It was skillful manual cutting and pasting.
Well, maybe not Photoshop the PC program, since microcomputers' I/O was basically just switches and colored lights in 1974 when "Goodnight Vienna" was recorded.
So, ... yeah, somebody just prolly cut Ringo's head from a photo and pasted it on Michael Rennie's photo. But, ... like, ... well, ... that star on Ringo's chest looks pretty blended into the folds of his shirt, and ... well, .. yeah, ... watercolors could do that ..., ... I guess ... [sigh]

My wife gets me magazines like this at the grocery store if she thinks I don’t have them. (I have some duplicates.) She got this one that says "First Look at the New Tour", which it does not have! The one that says, "60 Years of Hits" is accurate. BEWARE!
But, the way collecting goes, maybe the one that's wrong will someday be worth more than the other? Yeah, ... I'll hold my breath.

Good watch! He lost me a bit in the orchestral recording technique (bloom line?). The difference in setting up the orchestra in portrait vs. landscape was an interesting insight along with the adjustable-height 'canopy' at Air Studios...

The portrait vs landscape was interesting and something that I didn’t know what it was called. I’ve seen to done in a gymnasium. It makes sense to use the empty part of the room for natural reverberation.
